Nadia Progress Report #2
Arrsh Khusaria / December 2025 (60 Words, 1 Minutes)
I’ve been busy with life and wasn’t able to look into this project and when I came back I got sidetracked on making my own transformer from scratch.
While being 2 weeks deep into the transformer project which as of writing this is not even trainable I got kinda bored of it and came back on this project. Instead of straight up coding I went on a sidquest of learning more about spacial audio which made me realise what I should be aiming for with this project as a first step — Making NADIA an open source replacement for Dolby Atmos.
Dolby is super expensive to work on both in software and licensing; so as a first step in this project I am aiming to make NADIA the replacement for Dolby Atmos. But only for speakers, Bineural Rendering (Virtual Surround) will not be my concern right now.
This progress report was not about the new stuff added but a progress report on the road ahead. I’ll make more as I add new features. It might take a few days, few weeks, few months, who knows. There is also a side project I am working on which involves the linux kernel so that will take lots of my time. The development of NADIA will proceed blazingly once I am in college, untill then even I don’t know how much time I can give this so lets hope for the best!
